Economies in a globalized world - Family businesses in Germany

As regards business activities, family businesses are commonly considered to behave more risk-averse than companies led by managers. In fact, they are willing to take risks. They, however, estimate the consequences of their actions more conservatively and apply a longer-term orientation because wrong decisions may entail serious consequences for the company and, beyond that, may result in the loss of personal wealth.
