Rebecca Weicht has started her guest researcher stay at IfM Bonn at the beginning of February. She is a doctoral researcher at Manchester Metropolitan University and will stay for one month at IfM Bonn.
The aim of her guest stay is to collect empirical data for Germany and conduct expert interviews for her doctoral thesis "Designing welfare systems for decent self-employment". Later on, she will compare the German results with those of Denmark and the UK.
During the IfM Forum, Rebecca Weicht presented her research approach and first country differences. According to this, self-employment is defined differently in UK, Denmark and Germany. Accordingly, the expectations that are placed on self-employment in the different countries, also differ.
